At the least 10 Cuban migrants died and 17 others have been injured when the truck they have been touring in overturned in southern Mexico on Sunday, Mexican authorities say.
The truck was “irregularly” transporting 27 Cuban nationals on the Pijijiapan-Tonalá freeway within the southern state of Chiapas when the accident occurred, Mexico’s Nationwide Migration Institute (INM) stated in an announcement.
Officers stated preliminary experiences recommended the motive force had been rushing and misplaced management of the unit, fleeing the scene after it overturned.
The ten victims have been feminine and included a minor, authorities stated. All of the injured are being handled in hospital.
